This past Saturday, about 25 Bank Tenant mothers, children and allies gathered and delivered a powerful mother’s day demand to Bank of America CEO Brian Moynihan and wished workers of Bank of America a happy mother’s day. (to see a 6 minute video of the march click here)
The group gathered in Court Square and heard testimony from Sellou Diaite — a homeowner in foreclosure and a Springfield mother, who is demanding that Bank of America give her a real modification that includes Principal Reduction and Kalimah Dunwell, 13, whose family is facing eviction even though they can afford to pay rent after Bank of America foreclosed on their home last July.
We then marched up State Street to Bank of America on Oak Street, chanting “Bank of America, Bad for America!” “Bank of America, You Can’t Hide, We can see your greedy side!”. Once arriving at Bank of America the group entered the branch to deliver a signed Mother’s Day Card and our demands:
- STOP ALL-NO FAULT EVICTIONS AFTER FORECLOSURE!
- GIVE REAL MODIFICATIONS WITH PRINCIPAL REDUCTION!
