RALLY AGAINST FANNIE/FREDDIE IN NYC SEPT. 12Th

Springfield No One Leaves/Nadie Se Mude is part of a national movement of grassroots groups rising up against Fannie Mae & Freddie Mac, and we’re heading to NYC on September 12th to join forces with groups from across the region for a major action. Protests are also planned in Chicago, Los Angeles, and Atlanta at the regional offices in those communities. All the rallies will demand principal reduction and that President Obama use his power of recess appointment to get rid of Ed DeMarco. We will also demand that:

  • Fannie & Freddie put an end to all no-fault, post-foreclosure evictions
  • Fannie & Freddie sell back to residents or a non-profit after foreclosure at real value
  • Fannie & Freddie don’t sell to hedge funds or other investors who caused the problem in the first place, but instead turn over properties to community control, or sell back at current market value to occupants

Led by courageous people who are fighting Fannie & Freddie’s foreclosure and eviction procedures, we’re stepping up to tell DeMarco and the others that we’re not moving!

We will go down and come back in the same day. To join us in New York; call Sue Gamelli at 413-885-0658 or 413-283-5168.
